Upgrade Tier List

Every Clean the Supermarket upgrade and ability ranked S to C by how often it actually helps during a shift — with the reasoning, and the places where guides disagree.

How this tier list is ranked

One question decides everything: how often does the upgrade fire during a shift? The loop is pick up, walk, place, repeated hundreds of times across 199 shelves. Anything that removes a search or a trip beats anything that shortens one. These are community rankings, not official game stats — the game publishes no numbers for any upgrade.

S

S Tier — buy on sight

Solve the problem that actually costs you time: finding things. Price Scanner highlights every copy of an item at once, X-Ray tells you which shelf you are looking for.

UpgradeEffect
Price ScannerHighlights every matching item identical to the one you are looking for.
X-RayHighlights the correct shelf for the item you are holding. Runs on a cooldown.
A

A Tier — buy next

Strong once you have stopped hunting. Extra carry slots remove return trips, and the Auto Stacker shelves a whole category-matched armload in one press.

UpgradeEffect
Items HeldCarry more items per trip. Observed rising 4 → 8 → 10 → 12 → 14.
Auto StackerShelves the matching items you are holding. Matches by aisle category, not by flavour or colour variant.
B

B Tier — situational

Real benefits that only bite later. Movement Speed shortens trips you are already making, which matters most once you know the store.

UpgradeEffect
Movement SpeedMove faster around the store. Can be maxed out.
C

C Tier — approach with caution

The Magnet grabs whatever is nearest regardless of category, so it fills your cart with a mixed load. Several guides say skip it outright.

UpgradeEffect
MagnetPulls nearby loose items into your cart.

Tier List FAQ

What is the best upgrade in Clean the Supermarket?

The Price Scanner is the most common first pick. In a store holding 1603 items, finding every copy of what you are carrying saves more time than moving faster ever will. X-Ray is the usual second buy because it answers the actual question — which shelf does this go on.

Is the Magnet worth it?

It is the most contested upgrade in the game. It pulls nearby loose items into your cart regardless of what they are, so you end up carrying a mixed load you then have to sort — one popular guide tells players to skip it entirely. The Infinite Magnet Range game pass extends it across the whole map, which is a different proposition.
